a short break...

Have an apple...  or an orange.

Just remember that oranges are latent apples. Kudos to Anita Bryant for making an exhuberant minority coin up the phrase.

If you don't know who the heck is Ms Bryant, then you shouldn't ask...

Till next posting~~!!

Bits & Pieces : up close but not personal....

A collection of shots over the months that have been scattered all over my HDD.
All taken with Canon EOS 500D / 18-135mm lens.

A rose by any other rendition..

My favourite speaker.. in sepia no less

I have always been puzzled by this

Finally I managed to capture it

A little hummingbird. Dead but looking alive

For the tech proned and minded

A duck over the kitchen sink

All out of steam

Through the glass darkly as they say..

Refraction from a crystal on the wall one bright morning

I only realised I needed to change the screen protector from this picture

A bag of water with a few coins at the bottom. It actually repelled flies

More reflections on the wall on a bright morning

Luckily emails don't need this scaling to determine cost of postage

Malaysia Boleh ~!!

I have fond memories of this carrier...

It's the year of the Tiger anyway

I think these are called specs

My flamingo pink vase

This isn't my teapot. But the tea was really nice...

Brittle prettiness

Lofty light

Strength and security

Beyond the bluriness there is colour yet

Certainty amidst organised chaos

Hope you liked my shots.. till next time~!

Pictures taken from the years BC* - part 1

*If you're wondering, BC refers to "Before Canon", when I was using a Fujifilm S7000 digital camera. Not quite DSLR, but digital nonetheless.*

That camera now belongs to a more seasoned blogger who seems to be using it well.

The following pictures were taken circa 2004 to 2006 at Johor Circuit.

A young rider from Thailand

The rest of the riders

I've always liked balloons

A section of supporters with similar bike make

A close up of the supporters' bikes

Another angle

The exhuberant supporters dressed to their T's

I liked their colourful machines

See... I like balloons...

The ubiquitous umbrella-girls. Their job : to carry umbrellas..  hehee

One of the participating Thai teams

Le Mans style start : the riders at one side of the road...

... their machines on the opposite side. The riders have to run to their machines and start it and zoom off.

At the side event : a display of well-kept older machines by enthusiasts

This kid will grow up to have an affinity (or even fetish) for bikes...

Another side-event : a children's competition to draw and colour

Two more engrossed in their tasks

Part of the crowd from in and around Pasir Gudang

These clowns were quite friendly.. :)

But I wouldn't want to be in their shoes though

The DJ's on duty. The guy in black is a Fred Flinstone wannabe... hehehe

The two pro's who hantu'ed me into buying a proper DSLR eventually.. hmmm

The guy in red is a well-known Thai tv host who came to the race to do a documentary on the Thai teams

Errrrr..  I wouldn't want to guess what's on her mind with her stance like that..

A winner in one of the categories

"Lihatlah dunia...." ala Azean Irrawaddy river... huhuhu

Can they do that in public leh...

Another winner

Having dinner at the hotel I was staying. Trying to shoot the flame

I think he had a farm?

A budding golfer in the years to come

Can you see me? LoLs~

Nice protection for the head, ya?

Being the deviant that it is wont to be

Up for grabs

At the starting grid

Last minute preps for a competing team

Love this magenta fuel tank

And a pink / lilac bike...

*ahem... ahem*... koff koff... splutter. Colourful refreshment stall, no?

Hey kid... where are you off to?

Cute potential Shoe-Marker?

But all he wanted was his colouring book prize...

That's what I do when someone near me lets off wind..

Ok guys.... take a number~~!!

A messenger boy of one of the teams

These are called cars...

These are called bored firemen on standby duty

A distinctively meaningful marque

A not-so-successful clown

The video production crew. Yeah I felt that way too

A face...... *ahem*..

I managed to shoot a moving thing~~!!!  Hurray...

That face again.... *ahem*

The girls are umbrella girls.. The guy..  errmmm.. ermmm their chaperone?

Oh.. it COULD get very hot and tiring being a racer you know...

And they are friendly to photographers...

That's all for now folks. Will post part 2 IF and WHEN I find more pictures from my archives.
